Affiliate marketing is one of my favorite ways to make money blogging. The key is finding the right affiliate marketing programs to join.
I grew my affiliate marketing income to more than $2k per month in my 6th month of blogging. After I took Michelle’s affiliate marketing course in June, I doubled my income the following month. My blog's affiliate marketing income continues to grow each month and now makes up about half of my monthly blogging income.
Last year if someone would have told me I would have been making that much just in affiliate marketing I would've thought they were crazy. It has continued to grow consistently and I see more leads coming in each day.
What is Affiliate Marketing?
Affiliate marketing is when you share another person’s product link on your website and then receive a commission for any purchases made through your link. You can make money with affiliate marketing through shopping sites (amazon), affiliate networks, and private affiliate programs.
How to Start: Join affiliate marketing programs
Affiliate marketing programs are often listed on affiliate network websites. These websites feature directories of companies looking for affiliate marketers to promote their products or services. Once you join the network as an affiliate you will be able to apply to individual affiliate programs that interest you. It will usually take a few days to be approved as an affiliate but sometimes you will be approved instantly.
Aside from affiliate marketing networks, you might also be able to make money with private affiliate programs. This means that a small business or blogger has set-up their own affiliate program. For example, I have an affiliate program for my courses as do many online business owners. Private affiliate networks are a great way to connect with successful bloggers in your niche and promote unique content that isn't being as widely published online.
How do affiliates get paid?
The most common way for affiliates to be paid is by receiving a commission for all sales completed through their unique partner links or banners. Some companies pay a flat affilaite commission rate and some even pay a small flat rate for new leads.
Affiliates are paid via PayPal, check or direct deposit.

Affiliates make money by including their unique links on their blogging website. Here are a few great ways to include affiliate links on a website:
Write a blog post about the pros and cons of the product or service
Include affiliate links on a resource/recommendations page
Include banners at the top and bottom of your website pages or blog posts
Put an affiliate banner in the sidebar of your website or blog
It's important to choose affiliate marketing programs that are relevant to the niche of your website or blog. Apply to join programs representing products your target audience will like.
